Strength for Today

Do not  worry

From the book The Confident Woman – by Joyce Meyer
When Jesus instructed us not to worry about tomorrow in Matthew 6, He was saying that we should deal with life one day at a time. He gives us the strength we need as we need it. When we take the strength He gives us and use it to worry instead of take action, we rob ourselves of the blessings God intended for us to have today—not tomorrow or the next day, but today.
So often we miss out on good things because we worry about bad things that may not even happen! For example, a woman had trouble getting to sleep at night for several years because she was afraid a burglar would break in. One night her husband heard a noise in the house, so he went downstairs to investigate. When he got there, he did find a burglar. “Good evening,” he said. “I’m pleased to see you. Come upstairs and meet my wife—she’s been waiting ten years to meet you.”
That was a funny example, but truly think about it. Are you so worn out from expecting bad things to happen that you can’t enjoy your life? If you are, come to Jesus and He will give your soul the rest it needs (see Matthew 11:28-30).
Prayer Starter: Father, I want to be like that tree planted by the waters, so I choose to put my hope and confidence in You. Thank You for taking care of me and watching out for me, so I can be strong, healthy and peaceful. In Jesus’ Name, amen.

BELT OF TRUTH

Stand firm . . . with the belt of truth fastened around your waist. —Eph. 6:14.

We must be firmly resolved to live in harmony with the truth day by day. Wear the belt of truth around your waist. In Bible times, the belt of a soldier supported and protected his waist and his internal organs. For his belt to provide protection, however, it had to be tight. A loose belt gave little support. How does our spiritual belt of truth protect us? If we keep it wrapped tightly around us like a belt, the truth will guard us from faulty reasoning and will help us to make sound decisions. When we are tempted or under trial, Bible truth will strengthen our resolve to do what is right. Just as a soldier would never have thought of going into battle without his belt, we must be determined never to loosen or remove our belt of truth. Rather, we do all we can to keep it tight around our body by living in harmony with the truth.

spiritual pride

What Does 1 Corinthians 10:12 Mean?

1Cor.10.12 – Therefore let anyone who thinks he stands [who feels sure that he has a steadfast mind and is standing firm], take heed lest he fall [into sin].

This verse is used to pass a lesson that we should be humble before the Lord ..

Spiritual pride has and is still costing saved christians…

You should not feel like you are too strong to withstand everything or anything.. but instead you should always ask God to help you withstand everything ..

Be humble and live in God’s mercy and favor …. Let Him be your strength

Trusting yourself is good and essential but poisonous when it is overdone

Remember ..You are a human being … Allow God to be your first anchorage and not your ability or experience

REVEALATION

Understanding God's Will | Woodridge Church

Without the revelation of God not even following the Lord Jesus is of any use. Men may follow Him to Caesarea but they still may know Him not. People may stay with Him day after day, yet fail to really recognize Him. To recognize who He is requires revelation, because He cannot be known through outward familiarity. Revelation, not familiarity, is the way to know Him. You need God’s revelation, His speaking to you, His making you see, before you are able to know this Man to be Christ, the Son of God. External acquaintance does not give you a true knowledge of Him.
The same is true of the Bible, for the word of God is not only a person but is also a book. God’s word is the Bible as well as Jesus of Nazareth. If our eyes need to be opened by God to see Jesus of Nazareth as God’s word, the Son of God, so they must be opened to know the Bible as the word of God, as that which reveals God’s Son. Even as one who has had a long acquaintance with the Lord Jesus may not know Him, so he who has been familiar with the Bible through many years of study and research may not necessarily know this book. God’s revelation is a must; only what is opened up by God is living.

CALLED TO BE SAINTS

Called to be saints. — Romans 1:7

We are very apt to regard the apostolic saints as if they were “saints” in a more especial manner than the other children of God. All are “saints” whom God has called by His grace, and sanctified by His Spirit; but we are apt to look upon the apostles as extraordinary beings, scarcely subject to the same weaknesses and temptations as ourselves. Yet in so doing we are forgetful of this truth, that the nearer a man lives to God the more intensely has he to mourn over his own evil heart; and the more his Master honours him in his service, the more also doth the evil of the flesh vex and tease him day by day. The fact is, if we had seen the apostle Paul, we should have thought him remarkably like the rest of the chosen family: and if we had talked with him, we should have said, “We find that his experience and ours are much the same. He is more faithful, more holy, and more deeply taught than we are, but he has the selfsame trials to endure. Nay, in some respects he is more sorely tried than ourselves.” Do not, then, look upon the ancient saints as being exempt either from infirmities or sins; and do not regard them with that mystic reverence which will almost make us idolaters. Their holiness is attainable even by us. We are “called to be saints” by that same voice which constrained them to their high vocation. It is a Christian’s duty to force his way into the inner circle of saintship; and if these saints were superior to us in their attainments, as they certainly were, let us follow them; let us emulate their ardour and holiness. We have the same light that they had, the same grace is accessible to us, and why should we rest satisfied until we have equalled them in heavenly character? They lived with Jesus, they lived for Jesus, therefore they grew like Jesus. Let us live by the same Spirit as they did, “looking unto Jesus,” and our saintship will soon be apparent.

TREASURE HUNT

This is the wonderful things about the Bible. It is old and yet it is always fresh. We are familiar with every chapter and yet it is constantly surprising us. Time and time again we discover some radiant revelation of the wonderful purpose of God. 😌

No human, be he ever so good and ever so bright, has perfectly discovered the full treasure which has been submerged in the living word of God. That means the treasure is never exhausted and always revealing something new and yet old. 😌

When the spirit gets pessimistic the best place for Revival is in the optimism of the faithful word of God. No man can be sure of Christ until he is sure of Christ’s word😊.. And that’s why we should live in the word

UNFAILING LOVE

Psalms 147

  1. His pleasure is not in the strength of the horse, nor his delight in the legs of the warrior;
  2. the LORD delights in those who fear him, who put their hope in his unfailing love.

There is something that is very important in our pursuit of Christ. We need to understand his heart

There is no better way of pleasing anyone than in the pursuit of what pleases him.

The pursuit of what pleases God makes us pleasing before him.

Man was made in the image of God with the ability to understand the heart of God.

So in this verse we understand that the context describes an era where horses and chariots were used to make war and the swiftness of a warrior meant a good warrior.

Both were used to make exploits against the enemy.

This brings us to the understanding that God is not delighted in how much we do exploits yet the pursuit and hope for his unfailing love is complacent

Strength in the old Testament to do exploits can be compared to today’s annointing to wreck havock and scatter the enemy’s household.

However annointed you are with the pursuit of God’s love, you remain mediocre.

God is only pleased with those who know him before they do exploits not those who do exploits before they trully know God’s heart. (Daniel 11:32)

Seek his unfailing love or as other versions put it, hope on his mercy.

The pursuit for God’s love brings us to a point where God is pleased with us.

Never be on the pursuit for greatness in terms of annointing and greatness without first seeking God’s heart and the serving him with the fear(reverence) he deserves.

KNOW YOUR POSITION

: Ecclesiastes 10

  1. There is an evil I have seen under the sun,
As an error proceeding from the ruler:
  2. Folly is set in great dignity,
While the rich sit in a lowly place.
  3. I have seen servants on horses,
While princes walk on the ground like servants.
The bible talks about an error an exchange that has happened

According to the laws of this world those who rank high are those who are rich.

Now in the spiritual realm, richness is associated with our salvation and our our devotion to Christ. Folly is associated with the denial of a God or his works.
: It is time we understand our position of influence in this world. We are a royalty and therefore need to stand higher in rank.

We have gotten to a level where we end up being influenced by everything on this world except Christ.

We have forgotten our positions.
As Christians, we are considered rich and princes and princesses because we are the children of the King above all Kings.

Get up and have your level of influence.

Most of us the enemy has snatched our positions and given them to his the sinners. It is an error for you to sit and relax in the lowly place and watch as another carries on your destiny
Stand up right and take back what is yours. You walk while your horse is being carried by your servant.

It is time to rise and take back your positions that were snatched.

Have a blessed day.

THE FRAGRANCE

2 Corinthians 2

  1. Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place.

We must understand that we carry a fragrance in us. A spiritual fragrance that is felt before God and man.

The fragrance that is felt before God the one mentioned in Psalm 141:2

This however is the fragrance that we spread here on earth since we received Christ. You must understand that just the same way you have a fragrance in the physical, you have a fragrance in the spiritual.

How sweet your fragrance is will determine your ability to draw near to God. And to draw people towards God on this earth. Imagine a person who walks past you in town with a sweet smelling perfume or collogne most of us will look back.

That is exactly what it is like in the spiritual. Your fragrance stands out. Every persin must work on how to make his/ Her fragrance not only stand out but also sweet in God’s prescence.

Your fragrance should ooze sweetness. We are living sacrifices. Just the same way people in the Old Testament pleased God with sweet inscence, you please him with your fragrance. Things that make you ooze sweet fragrance

  1. Abiding in his prescence through worship prayer etc
  2. Feeding your spirit with the word. It oozes a sweet fragrance
  3. Living according to God’s will.
  4. Putting the flesh unto subjection.

THE VALLEY OF THE SHADOW OF DEATH

Topic; The Valley of The shadow of Death EP 1

Psalms 23:4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. The valley of the shadow of death is a symbol of situations in life that seem to be the end of everything!

Facing rough Times, nothing working in your life, you could loose your job or a family member! You may be facing persecutions as a christian, and people are asking where is your God! Job a bible character faced the valley of the shadow of death! He lost literally everything including his health! Friends ridiculed him! His own wife to him to curse God and die! And to him himself he said cursed be the Day he was born!

The valley of the shadow of death is not a pleasant place! God may seem silent at that particular time! Be very careful! This is where people can curse God! The only thing that counts in the valley of the shadow of death is where you are fixing your eyes!!!!!

Where you fix your eyes will determine if you are going to walk through or when you are going to give up, or if you are going to curse Your God!!! Hebrews 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. At the valley if the shadow of death, who do you face!??..Here is where those who got because of other people, circumstances or presents turn back and they run from the faith! This is where you will hear people blame God!!

Some say now because my dad died/pastor died, no more walking with Christ! Am giving up on God because He did not save my dad from Death!! Who has bewitched us????? But if you know whom you have believed, you can never loose hope in the valley of the shadow of death!! 2 Timothy 1:12
For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.

Paul writing this faced the valley of the shadow of death experience!! But he fixed his eyes on Jesus because he knew the one he believed! The psalmist faced the valley of the shadow of death, the enemies were pursuing and almost killed Him but he stood and fixed his eyes on the Lord! He couldn’t fear any evil!

The psalmist knew the rod and the staff of God always gave him comfort!!!

The purpose of the Rod and staff of God is to punish and show the right direction!! Some situations come into our lives to take us to the perfect will of God and purges you to be like Him! When you face the valley of Shadow of Death experience focus on the Lord! Encourage yourself in the Lord just like David did!fix your eyes on Jesus the author and perfector of your faith!

When God purges you just fix your eyes on Him

When you face the Valley of the shadow of death, FIX YOUR EYES ON JESUS!

Be blessed🙏
